Analyst
We are looking for an outstanding individual to support a broad range of real estate investment projects. As an integral member of a team involved in the full life cycle of various property investments, the Analyst willsupport the acquisition, management, and disposition of Amstar’s property investments. The position is responsible for modeling of potential and existing investments and monthly financial reporting. Some travel may be required.
Representative Responsibilities
- Evaluation of real estate transactions: analyzing basic real estate fundamentals (supply/demand trends); researching tenant credit and related industry prospects; and creating Excel-based models, modeling IRRs and promote structures.
- Evaluation of investment economics: Modeling project level and joint venture equity partner cash flow projections, incorporating the complete capital stack (debt and equity), and layering in joint venture promote and waterfall distributions. Modeling may be for operating or development properties.
- Participation in deal structure and execution: Support in the preparation of purchase and sale contracts, lease structures, joint venture documents and loan financings and refinancings. Support of transactional due diligence matters.
- Support and monitoring of management of assets: Reviewing monthly financial reports and models for portfolio of investments; creating or reviewing cash flow analyses, inclusive of sensitivity tables, and recommending or approving contributions or distributions on a quarterly basis. Contributing to quarterly reports; preparing and/or reviewing quarterly valuations.
Requirements
- B.S. in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Hospitality Management or Hotel Administration, or other financial or business discipline, with demonstrated academic excellence.
- Minimum of one year of real estate investment experience. Experience in hospitality investments a plus.
- Strong quantitative, analytical and organization skills.
- Strong Excel and modeling skills, including proficiency with Argus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to work effectively as part of a team.
- Although not required, Spanish language proficiency may be helpful.
