Reporting Associate
We are looking for an outstanding individual to support a broad range of accounting and reporting functions. As an integral member of our team, the Reporting Associate will responsible for financial and performance reporting to firm’s senior management, third-party indices, consultants and clients. In addition, the Reporting Associate maintains records, creates and presents reports and conducts other financial and reporting activities in support of firm’s projects. Some travel may be required.
Representative Responsibilities
- Report client investment data to consultants and third-party indices (i.e. NCREIF, Townsend, and other real estate consultants).
- Prepare Quarterly Portfolio Management reports (for all accounts/clients - internal reports).
- Provide quarterly updates and maintain firm’s performance track record.
- Perform firm’s Assets Under Management calculation and other key performance metrics for firm’s clients.
- Manage and provide to the valuation committee firm’s quarterly valuation report.
- Perform monthly investment roll-up (for all accounts/clients).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
- CPA and/or CFA candidate strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working for an institutional investment manager in a reporting and/or accounting function.
- Familiarity with complex investment ownership entities and structures.
- Familiarity with Open-End and Close-End Commingled Real Estate funds.
- Knowledge of the Real Estate Information Standards (REIS) and Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS).
- Knowledge of fair value accounting and reporting of commercial real estate investments to single client institutional pension funds is preferred.
- Understanding of Time Weighted Returns and Internal Rate of Returns.
- Understanding of Internal Valuations and External Appraisals, GAV and NAV.
- Experience with Separate Account Investor Reporting a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel experience required; MRI accounting system experience a plus.
- Strong quantitative, analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to manage and meet reporting deadlines.
- Strong motivation; and demonstrated ability to multi-task and to work both independently and as part of a team.
