Mike Hegseth has more than 17 years of experience in the real estate industry and is responsible for overseeing portfolio management, asset management, and portfolio strategy for Amstar’s U.S. investments.

Before joining Amstar, Mr. Hegseth served as a Partner at Blox Ventures following a decade as a Managing Director at Rockwood Capital, a private equity fund with more than $13B in assets under management (“AUM”).  At Rockwood, he focused on acquisitions and asset management throughout the Western United States, and was most recently Head of Acquisitions for the Northern California region.  Throughout his career, Mr. Hegseth has been involved in more than $7 billion in real estate transactions.  His expertise spans a wide range of property and risk profiles, including core, value-add, and opportunistic investments ranging from stabilized to development.

Prior to his time at Rockwood, Mr. Hegseth spent several years at a boutique investment bank focused on office, multifamily, and retail properties and in the Capital Markets Group at Newmark. He received a BS in Business Administration and graduated with high honors from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.

Faraz S. Shahid is Chief Financial Officer at Amstar, and is responsible for all corporate finance matters, including the firm’s financial planning & analysis, accounting, treasury, investor relations, tax, human resources and information technology functions.

Prior to joining Amstar in 2006, Mr. Shahid was with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, where he specialized in both the tax and assurance/business advisory sectors.

Mr. Shahid is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Denver, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Accounting with dual minors in Economics and Information Technology. Mr. Shahid is a Certified Public Accountant and belongs to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants.
